Gutted for the team. Were holding on well but should have defended that opportunity of theirs better really. Take a point though. Could’ve been more clinical with a number of chances but looked horrendous weather to play in. Onwards and upwards. Carlton was again impressive defending.
August 30, 2025 at 7:39 pm #310614Ref liked his cards.
Yes. I think we defended too deep.
Credit to all players – tough game and we may have just deserved to win it but the draw was fair enough.August 30, 2025 at 7:42 pm #310616Should had balls to take Carlton back off ,Got terrorised at right back Could hear there manager on tv shouting attack him youl get joy out him every time
August 30, 2025 at 7:43 pm #310617Where’d he get 9mins from? I don’t think the sitting deep when down to ten is coming from Butler judging by his gesticulating. Players are just drifting back naturally.

August 30, 2025 at 7:44 pm #310618Thought Carlton defended well and the goal wasn’t his fault
August 30, 2025 at 7:46 pm #310619we don’t quite have the balance right when down to 10 – need an outlet to hold it up while 1 or 2 join up. Have a to keep a threat even if its limited. At least keeps opponents on their toes and you don’t conceed if you have the ball.
2 games without a win. Need to win one of the next 2 to keep momentum. Hard work, commitment, team work fine but points are what matter.August 30, 2025 at 8:32 pm #310621Who’s playing right back Tuesday?
August 30, 2025 at 8:45 pm #310624Carlton?
August 30, 2025 at 8:47 pm #310625Scales surely.

August 30, 2025 at 10:17 pm #310630Big Jean the french fella can play there. Surely it has to be him !. That was a red card for Starbuck too. That was a clear dive. Really stupid as all he needed to do was pass it.
Two really stupid sendings off in back to back games and need to cut it out. I firmly believe we would have won that shit fest if he didn’t decide to do a Whitehall and throw himself to the floor.
August 30, 2025 at 11:39 pm #310632So frustrating, we were by the far the better team in the 2nd half until the sending off (couldn’t really tell from where I was stood but have now seen the slow motion replay on the DAZN highlights and Starbuck definitely dived…silly boy!).
Agree with iron64 above, having no outlet up front when down to 10 just invites constant pressure. Chadwick looked like he’d already run a bloody marathon as soon as he came on and didn’t get anywhere near closing anybody down.
August 31, 2025 at 10:12 am #310635Obviously a disappointing result, got to change the approach when down to ten men, be prepared to lose in order to win.
Cost us the championship last year with all the draws, it’s not like we’re losing the game late on and then drawing it’s mainly the opposite.
Someone said after the Sutton results they had nothing to lose when they attacked with ten men, adapt that attitude cos we’ve already lost 4 points.Ps dont like scunny report, miraculous start to the season !
August 31, 2025 at 11:41 am #310639Just seen Starbucks “fall” again. No penalty appeal by Starbuck or anybody else I could see. How can that be classed as diving?

August 31, 2025 at 12:36 pm #310640Agree with iron64. If we go down to 10 then we have to leave one man up, this will make the opposition leave at least one, if not two, players to cover him. That would make it 8 against 8 (9) it would also make the opposition wary of a break out. The way we play causes no threat at all, opposing teams can play as they like.

With you on that one. Not a yellow in my book
August 31, 2025 at 1:44 pm #310645No doubt about it … WE WAS ROBBED
Turning points in games define seasons and inconsistent poor quality officials do also.
Starbuck no way a yellow and more so WTF did the these clowns get 9 mins added time from ..shocking !!For a while i did think my 2-1 score and 2 pens double bet was gonna come in which would have been a travesty.
August 31, 2025 at 1:55 pm #310646I thought the defender just caught him. If it’s deemed simulation then by the letter of the law it’s a yellow, unfortunately
August 31, 2025 at 2:28 pm #310647For anyone saying it wasn’t a dive, go on the DAZN app, watch their highlights of the game and skip to 2 mins 38. It has a zoomed in slow motion replay of it and Starbuck 100% dives…didn’t even get touched. He didn’t appeal because he knew he made a mistake in trying to con the ref!
August 31, 2025 at 3:50 pm #310650Definitely a yellow card. I was fuming when I was watching because all he needed to to was lay the ball off. Completely brainless. If not for that daft decision and kept 11 men on the pitch we would have won.
As mentioned above though, when down to 10 mean we still need to carry a threat as camping every man behind ball is too passive and just invites wave and wave of pressure.
Butler needs to be more brave in this situations.
August 31, 2025 at 6:00 pm #310652The players need to stop drifting deep. Nothing to do with Butler. They’re not his instructions. He’s telling them not to if anything.
August 31, 2025 at 6:10 pm #310653When down to 10; I’d go:
In possession 2-4-3
Out possession 4-4-1August 31, 2025 at 9:11 pm #310656Poor defending again.
Belehouan can’t jump.
Belehouan can’t defend (evidenced in previous games)
Waldron powered his way to the header and smashed it in. Who was marking & tracking him?
We need to improve massively at the back.
The more we see – the more transparent it becomes that Campbell is not the problem.September 1, 2025 at 8:57 am #310660Belehouan – Rene’s new Beck.

Guilty.
I’d seen enough in the pre-season clips to make my mind up.
Happy birthday to him today by the way.
However, he’s 25 and the die has cast & set – he’ll not iron out his ‘defects’
Sorry. I won’t criticise him negatively again… I’ve put my tuppenny ha’penny’s worth in. Nuff said.1 user thanked author for this post.
