Not sure about that Alcy. Don’t know about Reid and Slick but I think Liz Frazer’s vocals may have been double tracked on later Cocteau Twins stuff like Heaven and Las Vegas. Early stuff sounds more single track.
Interesting though. Where are you getting this info about who’s been double or single tracked btw? Or is it based on what you’re hearing on the tracks? Given the amount of female singers in the world, you must have heard a large percentage of them to claim many have been double tracked?
Those I’ve seen, then heard on an expensive stereo. So those I’ve had an interest in.
Many many others, you just listen on a decent stereo setup, it’s usually obvious.
You MAY be right regarding later Cocteau Twins, but have a listen to Liz on the Siren Song.
Couple of others worth a mention were Celia Humphris and the late Sandy Denny, both of whom I was lucky to see live, SD with both Fairport and Fotheringay.
I suppose Sonja Kristina ought to sneak in too.
