Clearly not! I feel it’s the saga that will keep on giving until Butler is gone. This is Campbell’s 3rd season with us which is bizarre. Jones was given a go last season after Mahady dropped multiple clangers and Campbell was seemingly frozen out after returning from injury and sent out on loan. Jones did OK but nothing to suggest that he could take us to the next level. How both keepers got new contracts in the summer is beyond me.
If that’s the case, funds could have been saved signing less RBs. I get that it’s Butler’s budget but surely that’s overseen and signings approved by the Board? I can’t understand what convincing argument was used for signing so many RBs whilst leaving a very questionable couple of GKs in place.
Why would he need ANY argument?
He’d be explaining to the woman who values him so highly she’s extended his contract TWICE already😡
