After 5 games, 7th placed Southend are 6 points and 11 places ahead of us.
If Southend and those above them continue to accrue points at the same rate as in their first five games – and we keep on at our rate.
Then after 10 games, we will be 12 games behind Southend (if they are still 7th) – we could well be 18 points behind the leaders.
That’d put paid to any dreams of automatic promotion.
Closing a 12 point gap to get in to the play off positions would be difficult.
Oh well… time & tide and all that.
It’ll be interesting to see what develops (formations / personnel) on the pitch and (maybe) in the dug out.
