Someone who transfers a football ground into his own ownership while promising it’s just financial chicanery and the ground will always belong to the club. Then demanding £3m for it probably qualifies someone as a spiv AKA astute businessman as ha never tired of calling himself.

I haven’t praised Swann anywhere. Him ripping the club away from its stadium was awful and was when I knew he had reached the point of no coming back. However, he had every right from a legal perspective to expect a fee for the stadium, even if there may be overinflated valuations for naked self-interest. It was clear Swann put himself above club and everything was for his benefit, to the detriment of us fans, who actually cared. However, Hilton’s bullshit about it was all about him trying to evade responsibility and hoodwink the fans to pin all the blame elsewhere while he continued to run the club into oblivion. While Swann’s antics were selfish and inconsiderate to a valued club, they were well within the legal framework. More than what could be said for Dodgy Dave’s history.
