I think most sane people would rather their club survive than have someone wreck the club and think he deserves thanking for that.
Though, it’s always interesting how the goalposts shift from ‘super duper Dave’ is going to make Matlock the envy of non-league to “at least he brought in players and achieved naff all, while putting the club at risk.
