Not attempting to rewrite history but was it not the case that the contract was deemed so poor he went to ‘moneybags’ Gateshead, which implied he couldn’t have been so high up on Butler’s agenda, or they would have upped the financial incentive? Still not convinced about the appointment, but understand SODIron’s interest in the coaching side. Proof will be in the pudding. If he can become the National League Figo (later years), pick out those passes and generally coach decent passing, it will be most welcome.
