This season, if we did happen to get promoted through the Play Offs it’d be a very slightly undeserved bonus, imho. I’ll take it if it comes, but York and Rochdale both deserve the success of going up and should be applauded for their aggressive pursuit of promotion and their general consistency. If we don’t get promoted (likely) then it’s one I’ll be able to easily take on the chin as we’ve had a good ride. More importantly, this season will have provided those at the helm with a vital lesson in ‘what it takes’ to mount a proper promotion challenge, not just try and get there on a wing and a prayer.
