To put it into perspective ,on August 31st 1968 Sheffield Wed beat Man Utd 5-4 at Hillsborough ( Best ,Law and Charlton who had just won the European Cup a few months earlier). I was there,it is the greatest non- Scunthorpe game I have ever seen live. When the Wednesday crowd were shouting “we want six”,it will live in my memory forever.Roll on just 17 months January 24th 1970 ,and little Scunthorpe United mid table in league 4 went and won 2-1 and if Terry Heath had taken the two chances when clean through at the end,it would have been more emphatic!
