We lost half a million pounds last year to June 2024.
In the summer of 2024 we let the management team leave and key players like Butterfield, Ogle and Elliott. We also renegotiated half of the squads contracts with the playing budget reducing from £1.7m to £1.1m
We also heard an Iron Bru podcast with Michelle Harness stating that the season ticket sales had gone well and shirt sales and that we have paid the debt down.
During the early part of this year, another podcast with two of the other directors stating that we are losing £64k a month, which is in complete contrast to what Michelle said in the summer.
Could it be that the directors do not know their annual profit or loss and instead are stating monthly cash flows?
The summer revenue is a lot higher than the rest of the year and similarly the months of January and February seem to have lower attendances due to the cold weather. The energy costs are also higher during the winter months.
Scunthorpe United are a small company so might not have monthly management accounts.
I would expect given the club to be breaking even over the year given the last set of accounts and the restructuring of the playing staff last year.
Good post, but it won’t catch on as people need something & someone to moan about!!
