I’d also add that though Swann picked up some debt from Wharton, he did so because Wharton left it a decent proposition which was frequently cited nationally as a well run club. Very different from an incompetent selling to a vulture and the latter having to be paid to leave.

Yes but there was no reason for him not to pass the F&P test back then and he clearly and transparently had access to funds. Wharton couldn’t have predicted what he’d do over the course of his tenure.
