There are many in the upper echelons of religious institutions who have covered up and decided, quite immorally, that they’d rather try and protect the reputation of the church by hushing it and hoping everyone stays quiet. This is not unique to religion, but has been a common trait of all sex abuse scandals. There is a hypocrisy here from these religious people who preach morality, but I don’t see how it’s relevant to bpg’s post. Bpg has always stated a dislike of the C o E and Catholic church, for one, so would say that he agrees that these institutions are misguided, lukewarm or not true Christians.
