Difference is debt and cash flow. We’ve reduced the debt down to 150kish?, yet still have the legacy wages from the Hilton era which can’t be sustained on our crowds. We have 1 player on the books on a reported 2.5k a week still, not his fault nor the current owners.

Our options are either: reduce costs, or increase revenue. With the latter I’m not sure what else we can realistically do, our crowds have held up well with our historic averages and we’ve had lots of local businesses get involved with sponsorship etc. Even the kit launch was a big success and unlikely to be replicated again.

Our only real option next year, regardless of the league, is going to be slash the wage bill. Additionally, we have to put form of some strategy in place with regards to recruitment which is why the recently head of recruitment role is absolutely vital. Our scatter gun approach to transfers just isn’t good enough and as far as I’m aware our current player recruitment is down to the manager and assistant ?

Myfootballclub isn’t the answer, but at some point in the near future it’s likely we need some external investment, I just hope we fall lucky and not end up with an egomaniac or conman this time.
