I have had a listen and would offer a slightly different opinion. AB was maybe trying to be defiant in light of the recent and justifiable criticism of him, his assistant and his tactics.
He played 4-4-2, made bold team changes and altered the game with his substitutions. Fair play to him and his players backed him with a show of defiance too.
The little comment ‘outside noise’ from the club match report is interesting however.
At least we now know that even if the club chose not to say anything they were at least listening and sensitive to the criticism of their manager and the poor football being served up.
A victory in any manner will instill confidence throughout the team and the club as a whole.
All good then.
So next week and in subsequent games until the end of the season AB now needs to serve up entertaining attacking football by creating chances and sticking to our game rather than adjusting to counter the opposition. This will bring victories and unite the fanbase in his favour.
Anything else will not, and whilst AB took the brunt, the little comment ‘outside noise’ has not gone unnoticed on here, hence the reason I read it.
So if Ab is being defiant good for him, it’s better than the petulance we have seen of recent.
I am prepared to accept ‘outside noise’ so long as there as been some ‘internal noise’.
Up the Iron and this new defiance and fightback.
