Does a 2nd tier non-league team actually need a Head of Recruitment?
How many other teams in this league have one?
Is it a waste of £50k a year?
Surely Stan (Butler) & Jack (Schofield) have enough contacts within the game and desperate players seeking trials?
If the HoR ‘finds’ five players a season then that works out at £10k a player.
Seems we’re trying to desperately cling to our ‘professional’ status and haven’t accepted our fate and faced the facts.
We’re non-league and looking as if we’ll be grounded in this league for a while.
Stagnation will see gates fall and ultimately we will go part-time like the rest.
Speculate to accumulate… blah, blah, blah.
Money for old rope, clutching at straws.
Successful recruitment in industry is poor – with only a 30% success rate.
Football tends to be even worse.
I’ve looked at the top 4 teams – 2 have HoR, 2 don’t… I’m guessing that there will be more teams without HoRs than with?
