I think writing off a player based on one or two games is slightly different to making a prediction as to how successful our season will be based on a whole host of factors; management appointments, player incomings and outgoings and the fact our rookie managers formation of choice is one that I’ve never seen work at GP. As for not judging until we’ve given it a chance, we’re 17 games in, whilst that might not be enough to warrant a sacking (for some) it’s certainly enough for opinions to be formed and for fans to comment on.

Whilst I myself have had serious doubts of Butler since his appointment I’d be happy to be proven wrong as it would mean success for my club. The reality though is that is looking less likely as each game goes by and if we leave it too long the league will be gone and we will be faced with another season in NLN which for many of us is a painful thought.

I’m no advocate of chopping and changing.
I was no fan of Dean but never called for his head, even in the post Xmas slump or after play off failure. The difference with Butler is that he was a complete unknown. No managerial experience what-so-ever and part of the JD ‘failure’ team. He was a risk and for me he should never have been given the job so parting ways and appointing an experienced manager would be just putting us back on the track we should have been on from the summer.
