Agreed, however, it doesn’t stop the manager playing a system to get the best out of the players at his disposal. In my opinion, the current league position is simply papering over the cracks and I suspect we won’t remain top for much longer without a rethink.
In addition, the fact we nearly lost our club shouldn’t be used as an excuse to accept mediocrity.
I wouldn’t necessarily disagree with the first part of that but that’s not the point I was making.
The second part, about an “excuse to accept mediocrity” sounds dangerously close to when people demand that a club “shows some ambition” which always means spending more money.
