“Yes, it probably is, but therein lies another problem. Although under the ownership of David Hilton, it was still sold and marketed by Scunthorpe United. This puts those members in a difficult position as any recourse or compensation would be against the club under its current owners. The club appears to be doing the best it can to offer a solution that limits its ongoing financial commitment to this issue while still trying to give the 1899 / 100 club members something in return.
Unless any of the accusations against David Hilton actually go further, and charges are brought against him, it is an unfortunate situation that the current owners have inherited. It is also a situation that those members find themselves in through no fault of their own.”
