At this level, formations are pretty irrelevant.
It’s 11 v 11 on a fixed size pitch.
It’s a game of running.
Running to get back and behind your opponent when they’ve got the ball.
Running forward in support, on overlaps, in to space and getting beyond your opponent when we’ve got the ball.
If you don’t run and don’t work hard enough – then you’ll be inviting pressure on to you and not creating any outlets.
You’ve got to run further & faster than your opponent, win more challenges, win more headers, have more shots, make more successful passes.
It ain’t rocket science.
Mentally, our players are shot now.
Jimbob doesn’t have the technical & tactical knowledge to get the best out of them on the pitch – and he certainly isn’t qualified as a psychologist to sort their heads out and transform them in to Spartans
