Switch gay for black, Irish or woman and it would look a lot more obviously abhorrent and not because of what some government, god, genie, or other invoked authority says.I don’t think people should be treated worse or not accepted for a personal trait. If that offends or makes others feel uneasy, so what? Precious feelings and disgust are not protected characteristics and I’d rather society didn’t listen to the whims of the morally outraged over their emotional turmoil.
Personally, getting worked up over a pride event seems a bit snowflaky to me. No-one cares about the offence of those looking to be outraged.
