Getting down to zero population growth is no bad thing.
On the face of it no, but it does come with disadvantages, including more strain on services which the young have to pay for.
The Tories don’t care for this, because the young don’t vote for them. However, more ignorance of this issue will see continued antagonism towards the Tories from the young. The Tories keep taking the youth for granted, hoping that they will become more conservative with age, like other generations have. However, when there’s no observable stability in their aspirations, from stable jobs to home ownership, I can’t see there being a swing to the Tories from today’s young adults.
More excuses about Marxist bogeymen is not going to do much when the youth don’t feel like their concerns are taken seriously.
