Without making this even more protracted than it’s become … I’ve never been to Mecca or N Korea but DID vote remain. I was persuaded at the last by a close friend who outlined the inevitable economic implications and, to be fair, felt that my vote really wasn’t too important because we would be staying in anyway. I was definitely torn and uncertain in the build up. Sometimes you only recognise what’s in your heart after the event. At the risk of enraging certain posters .. I found myself relieved as well as shocked at the outcome. I had prayed for what was best (I know!! I Know!!) But I am Christian ..further incoming from, Bill dear God this is a minefield!!..so it should be expected that I would do that prayerthing at such a monumental time. My understanding has developed since that time and made firmer my view … which I think I’m entitled to without ridicule and defamation of character..that the long term implications will be for the best. Hope that explains, Heath, how I made the statement you quoted yet really had voted remain. I am pretty sure that you won’t find any merit in this explanation, Gurney ..but you’ve actually told me that I didn’t do what I did so, as ever,there’s little ground for or point in trying to have discourse with you.
Finally .. I have appreciated the several comments in this thread from posters who, I know, really struggle with some of my perspectives but have recognised that all the doppelganger/Les nonsense is .. to be generous ..unhelpful.
