My biggest worry for next season is how many are still under contract.
Getting rid of contracted players isn’t easy.
Which players? The 14 signed since January? A number of the contracted players for next season are Dean signings (Chapman, Elliott) and most of the others are just inexperienced youngsters (Lewis, Foster, Shrimpton). And Tom Pugh whose contract was extended under Dean’s watch I believe.
Aside from Beestin, I don’t think any of the contracted players were with the club in August (in the first team at least), so why do we think that another complete overhaul will make any difference? We’ve been throwing the pieces up in the air every 6 months for years and we keep getting worse results. At some point, we need to consider other options.
