She took no responsibility and made nothing but pathetic excuses. What’s more, this isn’t the first time she’s diminished Jews, so how long do we give her benefit of the doubt? I’d say she’s long gone past giving benefit of the doubt and a suspension is deserved.
John probably wants forgiveness for Labour unity and peace from angry Abbot fans. Which is a cowardly and unprincipled position, really. It’s why I find calls for unity often to be silly. Yes, it’s fine when the differences are small, but with racism, support for insurrection etc it is not. It’s not up to the rest of the world to reconcile with racists, apologists and other people whose actions have caused harm, it’s them.
