Thing is with Dean is that he favours the formation we’re playing now and to play in the central midfield roles you have to be mobile, athletic to cover all the ground you’re going to need to cover and Whitehouse would have never fitted the bill.
Shrimpton, Pugh definitely you could put in that bracket. Rance is said to fit in that kind of mould and Thompson on loan is supposed to be an energetic workhorse so not so sure Whitehouse would have got a look in any way.
I like Whitehouse but he wouldn’t have really suited this formation.
