Teams were relegated with:
2021-22 Aldershot 43 pts
2020-21 Woking 33 pts
2019-20 Ebbsfleet 42 pts (from 39 games)
[Covid]:
only 3 relegated due to Bury’s demise and only one club being relegated from EFL L2.
End of season promotion & relegation determined by PPG.
21st Ebbsfleet (R) 42 pts – 1.076 PPG
22nd Maidenhead 41 pts – 1.078 PPG
Ebbsfleet we’re heading for 49 / 50 Pts
Wrexham (20th & 43 pts) & Chesterfield (19th & 44 pts) were well and truly in the mix that season.
Who knows where they’d be if that season had run to its conclusion?
2018-19 Aldershot 44 pts
2017-18 Woking 48 pts
2016-17 York 50 pts
2015-16 Halifax 48 pts
2014-15 Alfreton 45 pts
2013-14 Hereford 52 pts
So the average number of points accumulated by the 21st placed & relegated club over those nine seasons is:
46 points.
To be above the average (and hopefully safety) we need 17 points from the remaining 10 games.
Six wins
Five wins & 2 draws
Four wins & 5 draws
Incorrect combinations and it’s adios amigo.
Four wins, five draws and only one defeat and we could still go down.
Ultimate irony would be:
4 wins, 6 draws, 0 defeats = 18 pts and being relegated.
That’d be a killer!
I’ve said previously that FIFTY points is the magical figure in this league.
20 points needed from 10 games then.
7 wins = ‘piece of cake’ – Fawlty Towers.
5 wins & 5 draws
Qué será, será
