In the greater scheme of things this is nothing more than High Society tittle-tattle. There are far more important issues facing the British public at this moment in time.
We don’t need a monarchy and we certainly don’t need this transatlantic soap opera.
Yet bizarrely the public not only lap it up but hold their bowls up for more!
And of course to the tabloid press this is manna from heaven. To the right wing government it’s not only flag waving but a handy distraction from the mess they’re making running the country.
Yesterday’s headlines in the majority of newspapers was about the NHS crisis and rail strikes. In the Mail and the Sun it was this story.
Personally I don’t give a toss about any of them and find the public voyeurism both unhealthy and uncomfortable, though not unsurprising.
