Depends who you’re talking to? But I’m not so much defending soccer as criticising “footy”. I mean “footy thug” is the sort of thing the Sun would come out with, surely that’s a winning argument?
I would class Awaywego as a football hooligan when he yabbers on about him chasing aggro for aggro’s sake in his youth at football matches. Probably refer to the current owner as a soccer thug.
