Luxury indeed!! I’ve never publicly talked about this … but some folk don’t know they’re born! We used to get up a good hour before we went to bed and work a 26 hour day down Dawes Lane licking rust off pylons .. AND we had to pay for the privilege! When we got home .. after walking back to Ashby via Kirton in us bare feet delivering rancid donkey carcasses to the school meal factory .. we were allowed a bit of ‘footie time’. Them was t’days. But it made me what I am today!!
