Probably right, but as I take a break from writing an appeal update, I’m reminded of this remark as some of the quotes from people running food banks, family support groups, community grocers, youth groups and other community groups has brought a tear to my eye. These are people far better than I, ‘morally or otherwise’. Amazing resilience and kindness they have in the face of poverty brought on by this horrendous government. Really, the government don’t deserve them. Happy for them to mop up the mess and mend what they should be doing while they do dodgy deals and appear on celebrity TV shows. Morally redundant.
