Telling long term supporters that ‘they can die when they want’, and calling those that opposed him hooligans, is hardly the best way to win people over. Also the removal of concession prices for kids and oap’s was spiteful. On the other side of the coin local hospitals and the university benefitted enormously from his many donations. The local news reports have it spot on, a man who divided opinion.
