The large amount of stories and memes criticising Corbyn, and the amount of MP’s that voted against his leadership bid proves that he’d become hugely unpopular with a large swathe of Labour politicians and the public. Whether or not you believe there was a conspiracy against him from Party colleagues and the media is your opinion but it’s not fact. Neither is saying the Tories have handed the next election to Starmer. But I’m sure there’s plenty of Labour supporters and members that would prefer him to fail so they can stick the boot in, as evidenced by the amount of tedious anti-Starmer content on social media. Ideologues on the hard right and ideologues on the hard left who arrogantly insist it’s their choice alone to decide if it should still be called the ‘Labour Party’ because it isn’t socialist enough for them. Times change. Personally, I and many other Party members are prepared to evolve for the greater good of getting the Tories out of power.
