Depends on the club’s heritage.

No surprise Gateshead and York came up last season as they’re run like an EFL setup. Plus the stadia are multi-use. Gateshead is used for athletics and has other facilities on site and the new LNER stadium at York has swimming pool, gym, bowling alley, library, cafe and outdoor all-weather pitches.

Spennymoor and Blyth on the other hand are not much of a step up from your average CIU Club. Other than a portacabin club shop there’s nothing else on site. And you don’t need reminding how good the food is!

And these are just four ground I’ve been to in the last 12 months.

If it were managed properly GP would be fine. However, if it were to be taken off us and we had to start up elsewhere, it could be a real struggle. And from what I have seen, clubs that just break even don’t win leagues.
