Thanks AWG.
What if the current owner decides to ‘shut shop’. Settles any debts, then pays everybody (staff) up and then liquidates?
I thought a solvent company can apply to be struck off of companies house? Then a members voluntary liquidation begins?
If there are no legal disputes or outstanding contracts and no creditors – then is there really that much for a liquidator to do?
* meet deadlines for paperwork and keep authorities informed.
* pay liquidation costs and the final VAT bill.
* interview the directors and report on what went wrong in the business.
* get the company removed from the companies register.
Jesus, we used to talk about football.
