To play devil’s advocate, you could look at things like this:
– Young, inexperienced keeper, probably a downgrade on Watson of last season
– Boyce released by a club which finished just above relegation positions
– Butterfield the star signing not played much regular football in several seasons.
– A strike force with no track record to speak of at this level.
– Key midfield positions to be occupied by Hallam, Beestin & Feeney, all of whom have question marks over them.
It’s definitely better than the position we were in at the end of May but I’m not sure yet that there is enough there to get us much higher than 18th. I hope you’re right though!
