If anyone is expecting anything other than aiming to survive next season, they are going to be very disappointed.
I’m just hoping that we have a squad of committed players and some more experience, regardless of whether they are perceived as a good signing or not.
Boyce is a decent start as he obviously wanted to come – however the longer the summer goes on, any signings made are likely ones that were probably hoping for other options, and that’s not what we need unless we want a repeat of the last couple of seasons. A keeper with experience is a must – McKeown would be a fantastic signing if he is settled in the area, but I’m still doubtful he would come to us due to his history up the road.
I’d rather have some ‘OK’ players that are going to put a shift in alongside our youngsters than someone who just sees us as a solution for a year or two because they couldn’t get a contract anywhere else. We’ve had too many of those players recently (and possible still have one or two on the books).
