Exactly the same can be said for many, many clubs much higher in league status than us.

Eventually, the small town clubs are ‘found out’.
Many have enjoyed their “day trip” to the coast, a paddle in the sea and the sun on their backs; even the odd choc ice or two – but they just don’t have the resources and populace (and generated supporters) to sustain it.

Oil Sheiks etc want the glossy, full fat, super high octane clubs to invest in.
Abramovitch wouldn’t have considered Leyton.
Sheikh Mansour wouldn’t have considered Stockport.
The lower leagues are littered with ex Premier League teams who “punched above their weight” for a while – but ultimately ended up “punch drunk”.
Burnley will go the same way.
Credit to them though, they’ve had a good run.
