I’m with Les and IA on this one. Hill has to be given a proper chance. His record over hundreds of games … rather than this last few months … has to earn him a decent crack of the whip. He inherited a mess and couldn’t solve the conundrum. I suspect that, as much as we wanted any money going for Loft and Hippo, they were both straining at the leash to take up decent offers at Rovers and Stockport. Even the reported exchanges between Hill and some in the crowd could be seen more generously. Perhaps he has some passion … no bad thing …and perhaps he feels protective of young prospects being asked to step up in a tough situation. Finally … maybe he isn’t a firefighter/ Houdini character … maybe his real skills are in bringing stability and then establishing a base to push up from. Time will tell … so I hope we give him some and he sticks at it.
