The last time I checked the protests had more than 3 people. Protesters does not equal members of an organisation, does it? An SWP front ran the Iraq War protests in 2003. Does that mean the SWP were incredibly strong? No, because the protesters were obviously not part of the SWP. Same applies here.
You’re expressing what 3 people stand for. You’re not expressing what every protester does, nor the footballers.
