Ok, Awaywego. Thank-you for that post. I just felt that it got towards bickering towards the end, and I don’t think I was innocent in that.
Through this thread my intention was to try and lay out why I think players taking the knee is supportable and can be separated from the worse elements to BLM, especially as time has gone on and attention to the racism black players are still subjected to has become more in focus.
I stand by my case, but I appreciate that not everyone will agree with me and have no desire to control people’s thoughts. I just feel a bit frustrated when I feel people have tried to infer that my criticism of their point is me calling them a racist, while trying to make it sound like I am just dismissing them as people when I have tried to engage with the points at times.
If it helps in any way, I take back my rescinding of an apology to you now.
