Surely for away games it will work as per Tuesday night’s game i.e. we pay to watch away games through our club’s website rather than theirs. There’s no reason why we should get free access via a code, as we wouldn’t get free access to away games as a season ticket holder, nor for home cup games.
No idea who gets the money, but as we’ve all signed up to iFollow Iron (or whatever it’s called) initially, it would be easier to pay for away games on there and let the clubs sort out the revenues than for us to have to register as home fans each time in order to access a stream for an away fixture. As hinted above, it couldn’t be offered free to away fans as home fans would be able to register with the away club’s iFollow and watch for free.
It surely makes sense to be able to watch all games, home and away, for £10 via the iFollow account to which you’ve registered, but to get free access via a code if you’re a home season ticket holder for the games for which you would normally access via your season ticket.
I may of course be wrong, but I’m hoping (without a great deal of confidence) that common sense/logic is being applied by those in charge…
