Scunthorpe United have confirmed the signing of experienced winger Adam Hammill on an 18-month contract.
The midfielder had been on trial with the Iron back in August after leaving Barnsley at the beginning of the summer, where he scored 26 goals and added 29 assists over two spells with the club.
Following the 30-year-olds trial with United, Hammill signed a short-term contract with St. Mirren in October, before going on to hit four goals and lay on four assists in just 13 appearances.
The former Liverpool youth product arrives with the Iron crying out for options in wide positions, following the injuries picked up by Ryan Colclough and Josh Morris.
Over the course of his career, the midfielder has racked up over 400 appearances so he comes with a wealth of experience, at a time when Stuart McCall’s side need it more than ever.
Hammill will be looking to make his Iron debut at Glanford Park on Saturday when they take on Coventry City.
