Defender Byron Webster says Scunthorpe will put their ‘hearts and souls’ into Saturday’s crucial clash with Plymouth Argyle on Saturday, as they bid to avoid relegation to League Two.
The Iron travel to Devon knowing a win may not be enough to secure League One survival, but the experienced defender is hoping the team can build on an improved second half display in the 3-2 defeat against Bradford City to give them the best chance of survival.
“It all comes down to the final day of the season where there is everything to play for, for both clubs”, he told the press.
“Everything else goes out of the window, it’s all about who wants it more.
“I know if I’m selected, I’ll be wanting to give everything, I won’t be leaving anything in the changing room and it’ll all be left out on the pitch.
“We’ll be going out there and putting our hearts and souls into everything in order to get a result.”
Webster also urged the travelling Iron contingent to stick with the players on Saturday afternoon.
“It’s not really in our hands as such, but all we can do is win. If we do that and a couple of results go our way, then it’s going to be a great journey home for both the fans and us.”
