Thomas named in Wales squad after notching first Scunthorpe goal

George Thomas has been named in the Wales squad for their upcoming matches against Denmark and Albania.

The on-loan attacker scored his first goal in claret and blue with a superbly hit free-kick on Saturday, in which the Iron miraculously came back from three goals down against Oxford United.

The 21-year-old will be hoping to make his third senior appearance for the national side, after making his international debut in May of this year as well a substitute appearance against Spain last month.

Wales will face Denmark at the Cardiff City Stadium, in a Nations League decider, before they then make the trip to Albania just four days later.

As a result of the call-up, Thomas will miss the Iron’s Checkatrade Trophy match against Mansfield Town on November 13th, along with the league visit to Bristol Rovers the following weekend.
