Team news ahead of Scunthorpe’s visit to Blackpool

All the team news as the Iron head to the west coast to face a solid Blackpool outfit at Bloomfield Road this evening.

Stuart McCall’s side have now lost three matches in a row, having thrown away an early two-goal lead at Wycombe on Saturday.

Meanwhile, the Tangerines are 10 matches unbeaten in League One, after they beat AFC Wimbledon 2-0 at the weekend.

Despite that incredible run, Blackpool are only two points above United in the table, having drawn seven matches in 11 games prior to Saturday’s victory.

Although Scunthorpe recorded four points against the Seasiders last season, including a 3-2 triumph at Bloomfield Road, they are notoriously known as one of the Iron’s biggest bogey sides.

United have lost 16 of their 18 visits to Blackpool in all competitions, winning just two of those encounters.

Scunthorpe team news

There are no fresh injury worries for the Iron heading into the game, but they still have a long list of absentees.

After missing out on the trip to Buckinghamshire on Saturday, striker Lee Novak remains sidelined with a calf problem.

Elsewhere, midfielders Matt Lund and Josh Morris are a few weeks away from a return to the fold, while Matt Gilks and Rory Watson remain long-term absentees.

Despite missing a couple of days worth of training last week, full-backs Cameron Borthwick-Jackson and Jordan Clarke played on Saturday and will be available for this evenings game.

After yet another poor defensive display from his players at Wycombe, Stuart McCall may well make changes to the backline tonight.

Blackpool team news

Following the Seasiders’ victory over AFC Wimbledon, Terry McPhillips is unlikely to make any alterations to his starting line-up.

Steven Davies is still waiting to make his first appearance for Blackpool, after rejoining the club on a short-term deal earlier this month.

The striker is likely to have to settle for a place on the bench for the home side, alongside midfielder Liam Feeney.
