Swindon missing three ahead of Iron visit

Yaser Kasim is one of three Swindon Town players that will miss Saturday’s game with Scunthorpe through international duty.

The midfielder is part of the Iraq squad who face Chinese Taipei in a crunch 2018 Fifa World Cup and 2019 Asian Cup qualifier on Tuesday November 17th.

Louis Thompson will also miss Martin Ling’s first home game in charge of Swindon.

The 20-year-old is set to feature for Wales U21s this Friday as they entertain Armenia in a UEFA U21 European Championship qualifier, before taking on Romania next Tuesday.

Jordan Stewart will also miss the visit of the Iron as he links up with Northern Ireland u21s.

Despite having three players away on international duty, Swindon were unable to call off Saturday’s game due to Louis Thompson being on a youth loan at The County Ground, which doesn’t count towards postponing a fixture.
