Scunthorpe United are set to redevelop Glanford Park, as a result of the plans for the new stadium, and the wider Lincolnshire Lakes project apparently falling through.

On BBC Radio Humberside, Iron Chairman Peter Swann spoke about the potential redevelopment of the Iron’s home.

“It is not ideal because of the value of the land and we don’t feel we should do that,” Swann said. “But we have not been given another site.

“It can happen pretty quickly where we can develop the main stand and have better facilities.

“We own enough land to do the whole development but it isn’t an ideal one.

“It was so disappointing we were taken down a path that almost led us to the promised land which is why we need answers.”
