The Iron have reportedly made a contract offer to former Sheffield Wednesday defensive midfielder Jose Semedo.
Semedo spent 6 years at the Sheffield club making a total of 167 appearances.
He is currently training at home in his native Portugal, reportedly spending time with close friend, Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo.
The 32-year-old is thought to be considering similar offers from clubs in England, including Bury and Chesterfield.
Semedo is currently a free agent after his contract expired with Sheffield Wednesday earlier this summer.
The Iron’s lack of cover in the centre of the park is no secret, with Graham Alexander looking to add to his midfield options before the transfer window closes.
