Oxford United boss Karl Robinson has backed Stuart McCall to get Scunthorpe United back on track ahead of the League One clash between the two sides tomorrow.
The Iron come into the game on the back of five straight defeats, but Robinson has insisted that McCall should not be blamed for the recent slump and is expecting a tough game at Glanford Park.
“There’s no way we are going to take too much notice of their recent run”, Robinson told the press.
“We know it’s going to be a difficult one obviously- almost a wounded animal scenario after those recent games.
“Stuart McCall is a top manager – he was a top player too, but he has a massive injury list right now.
“How can he be blamed for that? I am sure there is still massive support for him though and he will go onto achieve success there.
Robinson added that he was hoping his side could continue their good run of form, but admitted he would not be getting carried away as they continue to recover from a poor start.
“Our own form is decent but we won’t get carried away. We have been keeping clean sheets and we know that if we keep the back door shut we have goals in our team.”
