Iron chairman Peter Swann told fans during an exclusive Iron-Bru.com question and answer session that he would sack boss Mark Robins if he believed he had lost the dressing room.
“The atmosphere with the players and management is excellent and quite buoyant.
“I can honestly say I haven’t seen a team work harder. It just has not transferred to the games as yet.
“Whatever decision regarding any Manager, whether that be hiring or firing, needs serious consideration for many factors.
“At this time I want this club to show some faith in its manager and not be a firing club, as that will make it difficult to entice future candidates.
“If I thought that the Manager had lost the dressing room I would act”.
Swann said he was “very disappointed” with the club’s current league position and insisted he “will make the right decision at the right time for the football club”.
He continued: “In a nutshell, I do not feel the same way I did this time last year with Russ and believe we can get out of this rut.
When asked whether sacking Mark Robins would be too costly for the club, he responded: “If I feel it is not going to work then it does not come into the equation.
“He (Robins) has not spent double (wage budget) and I do not believe we have gone backwards, it is just not happening for us at the moment”
